You have decided to sell your home, so now what? After deciding to sell your home you probably want to do it as fast as possible and for the best price possible. Having your house on the market for months on end is most likely not what you want. What you don’t want is to spend a lot of money and a lot of your time, so what can you do to set up your home in a way that makes it appealing for buyers without a big investment of time and money? It is probably easier than you think. Let’s take a look at the following list.
Organise
Having your home full of things, personal items and knickknacks will distract the buyers from what is really important: your home. You want them to focus on what you are selling. Pack things you won’t need and give your house an organised look. Since you are already planning to move this might be the time to get rid of those things you don’t really need, imagine the time you will save not having to pack them and carry them to your new home.
Clean your home
Now you’ve gotten rid of all personal items and clutter, it is time to clean your home well. Clear cobwebs, wash the windows inside and out, hoover the house. A house that is organised and clean is attractive; people can see themselves living there.
Repairs
Of course we are not talking about remodeling the kitchen, but doing minor repairs to your house will pay off. If you have broken tiles in the kitchen or bedroom this is the time to replace them. If there are doors or drawers that don’t close well, have them repaired. Make sure all light bulbs function properly. Fix holes in the walls and paint them in a neutral colour. Always keep in mind the question, “What can I improve to efficiently sell my home?”
Outside
The exterior of your house is also important. You don’t want buyers to turn away before ever setting a foot inside. If you have a garden, make sure to mow the lawn. Remove rubbish from the sidewalk or hallway leading up to your home (even if it’s not yours). Try to see your home through the eyes of someone that has never been there before, and make it look appealing.
These are a few simple, low cost options you can do to make your home more attractive for buyers. Of course there are other things you can do, but it all comes down to how it looks. First impressions are important, that counts for homes too. Good luck!
