Every year the Byron Bay Blues Festival, also known as The East Coast International Blues & Roots Music Festival attracts thousands of visitors, particularly young people interested in chilling on the beach with some music. The festival has been growing on a massive scale yearly and where once the acts were all local, international performers are now drawn to perform in the cultural blues festival. The festival takes place over the Easter weekend for five days.

Byron Bay Blues Festival began modestly as an indoor event in 1990. It took place in the Byron Bay’s Arts Factory, but even in that very first year of its existing it drew more than 6 000 guests. Three years later the festival organizers decided to move it outdoors, so that more interested people can visit this fest.  The number of visitors’ quickly increased to over 15 000 people a day. The festival is currently running five stages and is held at Tyagarah, which is 15 minutes drive from Byron Bay. For two consecutive years – 2004 and 2005, this festival won prestigious award for Australian Best Contemporary Music Festival.

Now the organizers get ready for the Byron Bay Blues Festival 2014, announcing a long list of performers’ set to play. Lovers of roots, blues, jazz, funk and soul music are assured that they will listen for long hours and days to their favorite songs. Guests will enjoy the music of famous Boz Scaggs, Gregg Allman, The Doobie Brothers and Aaron Neville, among other performers and groups.

The headlining act has been announced: The Doobie Brothers who have performed since the 70s are considered by many people to be living legends and are among the most famous performers of rock & roll. Just like the organizers were very happy to bring legends like Steve Miller Band at their festival in 2013, now they are proud to announce the participation of The Doobie Brothers at the Festival 2014. People will surely have a great time, listening to their hits.

Another famous group that confirmed their participation is The Replacements, who are alternative rock pioneers,  sounding  a little different to the majority of performers. The lovers of classy soul music will definitely love the hits performed by Boz Scaggs, who is an unsurpassed master of American music.

The former leader of The Allman Brothers, Greg Allman, who is considered a pioneer for the musical genre Southern Rock, is enticing even more visitors, having a remarkable discography for his electrifying set. The festival will be the solo debut of amazing Aaron Neville in Australia. He is widely regarded for his emotional and beautiful voice. Some other great names and groups announced are popular chart entrants John Butler Trio, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, as well as Iron & Wine. Just like festival organizers have promised, Byron Bay Blues Festival 2014 is going to attract a great number of fans of all ages to join celebration in Australia. It is going to be a memorable event that will satisfy the tastes and preferences of young and old.

This five-day Byron Bay Blues Festival will take place from 17th to 21st April, 2014 at its traditional place of Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm. The full price for this five-day outdoor event is $515, while for a three day stay the fee is $385. Those who intend to attend the festival for a single day, can by tickets that cost $149. The area provides great possibilities for camping and even VIP options.

With so many great names, Byron Bay Blues Festival 2014 promises to be the best one in its long history and mentioned above names are only a little slice of what this festival is going to offer.
