Cloak and Cipher had no guarantee of ever being made. It was on fall of 2008 when Liz’ voice almost gave up completely. Required a surgery haemorrhaged vocal cord polyp, she was only able to do only a few shows as Broken Social Scene’s guest guitarist and vocals.

This made her to retreat to recover, reassess her music and write songs again.

Liz has now taken ownership of the band’s leadership. She is up to deliver for the band on this album.

The fact that so many dudes played bass or keys inspired her more to become a frontswoman in a band. Her goal was to work hard for a band and make it all about her, while she admits she is not comfortable with it.
